Brand New 12-Car ICF MEMU Rake at Kottayam Kerala

Southern Railway’s brand new 12-car (coach) Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) trainset of the Thiruvananthapuram division (TVC) seen running the 66301 1230 Ernakulam – Kollam service waiting at Kottayam for the Island Express to cross on a very overcast afternoon. This MEMU rake was manufactured by the Integral Coach factory (ICF) at Perambur in Chennai and was allocated to TVC after years of wait. The old MEMU rakes in Kerala used to have 8-9 coaches until now. It would be great if the mesh-grille windows were replaced with the regular bar-type windows as it can get stuffy in the Kerala heat.
