The Flat-out Bangalore – Tumkur Stretch of NH4

A stretch of the Bangalore – Tumkur portion of the National Highway 4 just after Nelamangala. The NH4 runs from Chennai to Mumbai via Bangalore and is part of the Golden Quadrilateral and this stretch forms a part of it. From Bangalore, the road goes on to Tumkur, Davengere, Hubli, Belgaum, Kolhapur and Pune. The Mumbai – Pune Expressway is in addition to this highway. The NH4 is also the “backbone” of Karnataka. This photo was taken in 2009 when the road was brand new.
