A Kochi Water Metro Boat

This one is boat #9 and is named “Ezhimala” after the legendary hill and location near Kannur. All Kochi water metro boats are fully electric. There are currently 11 of the boats in service on the two operational routes between High Court ad Vypeen and Kakkanad and Infopark. Kochi Water Metro boats have an occupancy capacity of 96 passengers. They are completely air conditioned and high-tech just like a regular metro train. The only difference is that they are running on water rather than on rails. All Kochi Water Metro boats are built by the Cochin Shipyards Ltd.

Timings of the Kochi Water Metro on the High Court – Vypeen route are around 25 minutes for each trip with a boat departing every 30 minutes currently.
