Bangalore’s Local “Bullet” Train :)

This train seen here is a passenger train and not a bullet train, though people in Bangalore refer to it as the “local” bullet train owing to its streamlined looks (and not because of its speed). This rake is part of a new kind of design for Indian Railways’ multiple unit trains which need no separate locomotives but have their driving motors distributed throughout the train. Now this is a DEMU (Diesel-Electric Multiple Unit) which runs on diesel. The train still looks awesome though it paint has faded substantially. It has bigger, more “vertical” windows compared to the conventional small, square windows. Now please replicate this throughout, please?

SWR’s DEMU rake running the morning 06591/06592 Yeshwantpur – Hosur – Yeshwantpur passenger special service stands waiting at Heelalige as my 12258 Garib Rath from Kochuveli to YPR crosses it. (Not sure if the guy was taking a leak or just standing there)
