An Apocalyptic Kovalam Beach on Kerala’s Darkest Evening

It was a windy, wet and rainy evening at the famous Kovalam beach, near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, the famous tourist spot known for its sea and sparkling beaches. However, there was nothing touristy about the place that evening. Neither was there anything to suggest that this would be one of the darkest evenings in Kerala’s history, metaphorically, the night before the state was drowned in the greatest recorded flood in its history. The lights seen are of the Leela Raviz hotel, Kovalam. The entire scene almost looked apocalyptic, a premonition about the disaster that was unfolding up north.
