A Kochi Water Metro Boat Leaving High Court Station

One of the service boats of the Kochi Water Metro leaves the High Court Water Metro station bound for its destination at Vypeen. The boat is named “Bekal” after the famous fort and monument in Kasargod district. The Kochi Water Metro is a unique endeavour that tries to replicate the concept of Metro rail services on the extensively interconnected water bodies in the Ernakulam-Kochi metro region. It currently operates fully air conditioned, fully electric service boats to Fort Kochi, Vypeen and Cheranalloor from the High Court Water Metro terminus and between Vyttila and Kakkanad Infopark at intervals ranging from 15 minutes to one hour. The fares start at Rs.15. The apartment building on the left is the Prasanna Vihar Army Welfare apartments which are seemingly not as expensive as they probably should be. This was taken from another Water Metro boat returning from Fort Kochi.
