The Idukki Dam Reservoir on a cold rainy evening

The reservoir of the Idukki hydroelectric project in Kerala as seen from the Calvary Mount view point on a cold, grey and rainy day. The project that is commonly known as just the “Idukki Dam” consists of the famous Arch Dam and two gravity dams. The reservoir covers an area of 60 square kilometers. The Calvary Mount view point is a popular tourist spot and offers scenic views of the Idukki Dam reservoir and lies on the Cheruthoni – Kattapana route in Idukki district of the high ranges of Kerala.
