The 16320 Humsafar Express Train in the Rain

The Kerala monsoon pounds down in full force on the 16320 Humsafar Express train from Bangalore to Trivandrum as it slowly comes to an unscheduled halt at Karunagappally railway station in Kollam district in South Kerala. Featuring its regular rake consist of blue-liveried Humsafar coaches, it was led by Erode electric loco shed’s WAP7 celebrity locomotive #37222 named “Bhavani”. The train had to stop here as the 16303 Vanchinad Express had not cleared the section ahead.

The 16319/16320 Humsafar Express runs between Thiruvananthapuram North (TVNC) erstwhile known as Kochuveli and the Sri M Visweshvaraya Terminus Bengaluru (SMVB) twice a week. It was headed to Trivandrum on this rainy Saturday morning. Capturing the full length of a train during heavy rain is especially hard given you have to protect your gear from moisture.
