The Sun Returns Home at the End of a Tiring Day

When we were children, we believed the sun had its home under the ocean, to which it returned every day after a tiring day of lighting up the “whole” earth. The orange and gold it painted the sky with was the goodbye and thanks it gave to the world as it was leaving. Here is that scene of the sun waving goodbye as it slowly sinks into the ocean, the classic sunset photo of the golden sphere of the sun already half below the horizon as seen from a beach in Kerala. Sadly, most things that we believed of back then turned out to be not true.
