No, this is not a nuclear detonation. What looks like an explosion of fluffy yellow spreading outwards from a white core into the vast blue, is the very natural and highly dramatic setting of a colourful evening sky in Kottayam district in Kerala. Above a water-logged paddy fields hangs a a sky blue of many hues, a bright yellow setting sun reflecting its golden glow everywhere, fringed by a long wall of green, whose deep shadows remain oblivious to the charms of those rays. A long narrow road winds along the paddy field, carrying the evening glory on its surface. This place is stunningly scenic and not very well known. The photo has been pretty well worked on, of course.
