KSRTC Premium Superfast KS 492 at Palayam

The Kerala KSRTC’s new class of “Premium” Superfast buses are a higher sub-class of the Superfast class with limited stoppages and a marginally higher charge compared to the normal Superfast class buses. Not to mention the livery. They were introduced last year as part of an expansion exercise by the corporation. Here you can see the KS492 Superfast Premium rolling down an empty road one Sunday morning at Palayam in Trivandrum, the last stop before its terminal destination at Thampanoor bus station at Trivandrum. The bus belongs to the Kumily depot in Idukki district on the border with Tamil Nadu and was operating the early morning 3 am service to Trivandrum. The service goes Kumily – Periyar – Mundakayam – Kanjirappally – Erumeli – Ranni – Pathanamthitta – Adoor – Kottarakara – Kilimanoor – Venjaramoodu a rather unconventional route.
