Blazing Red SRC WAP4 #22500 Heads the Howrah Duronto
One of Indian Railway’s most successful and highest revenue generating trains, the 12246 Bangalore Yeshwantpur – Kolkata Howrah Duronto Express blasts past Sadananda Nagar in Bangalore on the very first leg of its journey under a scorching sun. A blazing red WAP4 #22500 of the Santragachi electric loco shed of the South Eastern Railway (SER) was in charge. This single locomotive alone completes the entire (technically) non-stop journey of 2000 km. The train is waitlisted year round.
