BMTC Corona Skypak City Bus running 500C
One of BMTC’s stark white Corona “Skypak” low-floor Air Conditioned City Buses running 500C on the Banashankari – BTM – Silk Board – Outer Ring Road – Marathahalli – ITPL route. The model of the bus is called “Skypak” (nothing to do with the cheque dropbox company). These buses are sturdy, look reasonably good (except for the headlights) and are very spacious inside with a uniform floor and a large standing area with no “Split levels” like the Volvos. But the buses are seriously underpowered, slow and are noisy inside. I would rather take a Volvo which is faster, more comfortable and silent. Also, they look better
These buses are manufactured by the not-so-well-known Corona Bus Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd, (website) a fully Indian company based out of Lonikhand near Pune, Maharashtra. Tata Cummins engines are used for the buses. Corona has three more models of buses including intercity coaches and sleeper buses. The Sleepers are also used by KSRTC
