A Dramatic Golden Sunset on the Kochi Lake, Kerala

The sun sets as an enormous fiery ball of liquid gold over the Kochi (Cochin) lake in Kerala. A dredger that happened to come by during the time served as a fine backdrop for the spectacle, the fittings on top of it perfectly framing the ball of fire, appearing it be caged behind the Trident of Poseidon. The shot is taken against where the lake actually opens out into the Arabian Sea. The sky is painted gold and yellow by the sun set. The image has been heavily processed to bring out the dramatic theme of the sunet.
