KSRTC Interstate Super Fast RPE 978 at Karyavattom

The KSRTC Super Fast bus with bonnet number RPE 978 belonging to the Trivandrum depot operating an Interstate service from Coimabtore to Trivandrum seen under the shade of rain trees at the Kerala University’s Karyavattom Campus bus stop on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram City. This absolute classic was built in December 2016 by the Edappal Regional Workshop of KSRTC on an Ashok Leyland Viking chassis in the classic SuperFast style when the corporation still used to build their own buses. It has been running the Trivandrum – Coimbatore route ever since and is a minor legend withing busfanning circles. As you can see the bus is pretty beaten up with a decade’s worth of service showing on it.
