A Freight Train in India Hauled by Twin EMD Diesel Locomotives
Hubli diesel locomotive shed’s WDG4D “Vijay” #40642 and a cousin WDG4, dedicated freight diesel locomotives of the Indian Railways haul a high-capacity BCNHL rake (covered wagon – heavy loading) seen at Sasthamkotta railway station in Kerala one early morning. The WDG4D is an indigenously developed version of the EMD WDG4 locomotive (EMD GTMAC64), by adding an additional drivers cab so it can be operated from both sides with better visibility and flexibility. It has a unique livery and was until recently not very easy to spot.
