The Majestic WAP7 Heads the Chennai AC Double Decker

Southern Railways’ Royapuram shed’s (RPM) #30363 stands at the head of the 12-coach load of the 22626 Bangalore City (SBC) – Chennai Central (MAS) AC Double Decker Superfast Express. The red-and-yellow livery of the Double Decker, unique on Indian Railways stretches and curves behind the brand-new 6350 hp beast. The WAP7 is also known as as the “Milky Bar” among Railfans. The location is Bayyappanahalli in Bangalore. This train, despite all its shortcomings is one of my all-time favorites and hopefully is a sign of better things to come on Indian Railways. Also, it is very photogenic. If only the sun was out on that day!
