Aerial View of Palayam, Trivandrum at Night

A limited aerial view of the Palayam area of Thiruvananthapuram city, late at night when the people and vehicles have all gone home. This view is from the roof top of the South Park hotel, looking over the University College campus. The capital city of Kerala boasts of a massive green tree cover especially at the core where it is uniquely green with wide roads and parks all built by the Travancore Kings and the British. Palayam lies towards the northern end of that “old city” and literally means “military camp”, which it was once. Now it is more famous for a temple, a mosque and church standing literally next to each other, which you can glimpse at the top center of the picture.
