A KSRTC fast passenger bus rounds a corner at high speed on KK Road near Kumily

The Balanpillacity Fast Blasts Around a Bend on the KK Road

Trees and vegetation blur away as Kerala State Road Transport Corporation’s RNE511 Fast Passenger bus of the Kumily depot blasts around one of the numerous corners on the Kottayam – Kumily Road (KK Road) as it approaches Vandiperiyar near Kumily on its long journey from Kottayam to Balapillacity via Kumily and Kambammettu. This is an epic highrange route coursing through much of Idukki district’s hilly terrain. The Ashok Leyland bus is running one of KSRTC’s newest services which was taken over from the private operator Kondody Motors. Note how even on this sharp turn the bus stays perfectly inside the continuous white line! This is how driving has to be, and not cutting across the line on corners as most people in India do. If you try those stunts on highrange roads you might end up under some other wheels… Tried a bit of camera panning from a moving vehicle. I was in another KSRTC Fast, the Ernakulam – Kottayam – Kumily – Thekkady FP which was chasing down and finally overtook this one.
