Obey Traffic Rules! By Order, Kerala Police

The most basic traffic rules written in Malayalam hang from a traffic signal post at Kalady junction on the MC Road in Kerala. (Traffic signals are called just “traffic” in Kerala. So what is traffic actually called? A “block”. Yeah we are complicated.

The rules written are as follows:

  • Don’t drink and drive.
  • Always wear seatbelts.
  • Do not overtake from the left.
  • Do not use mobiles while driving.
  • Two-wheelers keep to the left side of the road.
  • Obey traffic rules.
  • Prevent accidents and accident deaths.

Front-Row Seat View from Inside a KSRTC Superfast

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) Superfast bus RSC 587 of Adoor rumbles along the MC Road between Kaladi and Ankamali. This photo was taken inside the bus through the front windshield over the driver’s shoulder, where the front-row seat view through the plate glass window shows the commanding driver’s position, exceptionally good road and the unruly traffic on it, where everyone drives wherever they please and blame others. The front-row is also the best place to enjoy a KSRTC Superfast ride as these buses are notorious for their speed and maneuvering which is unfortunately a necessity. This Central workshops-built bus with registration no KL15 A 45 ┬áis also one if KSRTC’s newest.
