Scandinavian Airshow’s Grumman turns out Saffron, White, Green!

Scandianavian Airshow is an air-acrobatics flying team from Balsta, Sweden. They made their maiden appearance in Bangalore AeroIndia air show in 2015 with their trademark “wing-walking” air acrobatics (branded Catwalk) showcasing their bright yellow Grumman G-164A Ag Cat propeller plane. The bright yellow of the plane leaving behind trails of saffron, white and green against the bright blue sky makes a good study in contrast! Two acrobats are hitched on the wings and oe on the top of the plane who perform stunts while the plane is flying! Goes without saying that the team were kickass!

Roses of the “Mysore Flower Palace” at the Bangalore Flower Show

Close up photo showing all the thousands of roses that make up one wall of the “Mysore Palace” replica, or rather, model of it, the biggest attraction of the 200th Bangalore flower show at Lalbagh Gardens, August 2014. All hues of red make up the “pillar” and “beam” of the wall and all kinds of white roses make up the windows, all inlaid in green decorative leaves. Totally mesmerizing! More roses cover the pillars and domes of the model. I haven’t seen so many roses together at the same time in the same place in my life!

A Red, Yellow and Gold Flower Carpet!

Another scene from the 2014 Bangalore Flower Show at the Lalbagh Gardens, where some kind of red flowering plant, rich globes of yellow Marigold and some golden flowers whose name I can’t quite recall are arranged to form a flower carpet. After seeing the closeup photo, I would like to imagine that these flowers are plants the size of our regular trees growing on a meadow with tall grasses… And we are only as small as the stalks of the red plants. Like Alice in Wonderland. Awesome.

A Flower Garden Display at the Bangalore Lalbagh Flower Show

A display of many flowers together stands at the Bangalore Flower Show, August 2014 at the Lalbagh Gardens, Bangalore. There are Yellow and Orange Marigolds, Anthuriums, Yellow (Hawaiian) Hibiscus, some kind of small violet flower and others arragned neatly together in a mult-flower garden display. These displays are arranged at all corners of the “glass house” and are arranged sloping from the wide bottom upwards, tapering at the top. Very beautiful. The 2014 Lalbagh Flower Show will last until August 2014.

The “Flower Palace” at the Bangalore Lalbagh Flower Show 2014

A likeness of the Mysore Palace made out of flowers seen at the  Bangalore Flower show at the Lalbagh Gardens in August 2014. The model replica of the palace, the highlight of the show was entirely covered in flowers, using roses for the red and white. The elephant models were also covered in red roses and were delicious to look at! The models were among the most beautiful things I have seen in recent times. The entire setting was to remind one of the Dasara Celebrations. This flower show is Bangalore’s 200th flower show.
