The “World Trade Center” Tower of the Brigade Gateway complex looms high up in the sky along with the Sheraton hotel building situated in the same complex. The Metro line towards Malleshwaram rises high up in the sky as autorickshaws seen like rats everywhere in the city cluster aroudn the area for no particular reason. Taken at Yeshwantpur railway station, just before where the Chord Road towards Rajajinagar and the Road towards Yeshwantpur and Malleshwaram split.
Sea of autorickshaws at the round-the-clock traffic jam at Hudson Circle in the heart of Bangalore. I count 21 autos here! They cause traffic problems, pollution and whatnot, and people complain about this mess and autorickshaws all the time and still continue to take autos paying more than what would cost to travel in an air conditioned BMTC Volvo. Half of the pollution in the city comes from autorickshaws and most drivers are anti-social elements. These eyesores should be outlawed. Hopefully the online taxi revolution should teach these daylight robbers a lesson.
“Kallil sedhikkiya Kadavulai vida karuvil sumandha thaiyeh mudhai deivam” says this quote in Tamil on the back of an autorickshaw seen in Bangalore. In English it means “The mother who carried you in her womb is more God than the idol hewn in stone!” Profound and incredible! Auto drivers are not known for their high values and all, but this guy seems to be different! If only more people thought like this, including people who beat their religious chests thought like this! Especially in these days of increasing attacks against women! And of course, your life is in your hands!
One of those notorious traffic jams found on Bangalore Roads under the “hanging bridge” in front of the Railway Station at KR Puram, Bangalore. Even early in the morning. Trucks, cars, buses, autos, bikers and more converge from four lanes to two to pass under the bridge. Add to that the general chaos in front of the Railway Station with passengers and so on. One of the worst spots in the city. (Note the guy on top of the picture, enjoying the spectacle from the bridge above :))
