Scandianavian Airshow is an air-acrobatics flying team from Balsta, Sweden. They made their maiden appearance in Bangalore AeroIndia air show in 2015 with their trademark “wing-walking” air acrobatics (branded Catwalk) showcasing their bright yellow Grumman G-164A Ag Cat propeller plane. The bright yellow of the plane leaving behind trails of saffron, white and green against the bright blue sky makes a good study in contrast! Two acrobats are hitched on the wings and oe on the top of the plane who perform stunts while the plane is flying! Goes without saying that the team were kickass!
The Russian Knights (Russkiye Vityazi) Air Acrobatics team of the Russian Air Force show off their skills with their Sukhoi Su-27s during the Aero India 2013 Air Show in Bangalore. The jets after flying in formation deployed Chaff and Flares, which are part of evasive countermeasures used to confuse enemy aircraft and deflect incoming missiles et al during air-to-air combat. They make spectacular scenes in the sky. One of the Sukhois can be seen to the top of the picture. (Sorry for the blemishes in the picture, the camera is quite old and has lens defects)
Happy Air Force Day! On this day, October 08, which is celebrated as Air Force Day every year, I salute all the men and women of the Indian Air Force for keeping our skies safe for us. We owe you one, heroes! The photo is a tribute for them, a shot of the Suryakiran Air Acrobatics Team of the Indian Air Force flying in perfect formation with contrails of the Tricolor trailing behind them, from the Bangalore Air Show 2011. Also, Oct 8 2012, the day of posting this, marks 80 years of the Indian Air Force (IAF)! *Salute*
