WDS6 #36018 Solid ERS Shunter

WDS6 #36018 shunter of Ernakulam Diesel Shed looks thoroughly solid as she soaks up the sun sitting on a siding at Kottayam railway station. Shunters are low-powered locomotives to shunt (attach) carriages to each other. This spotting was quite a surprise, since shunters usually do not travel away from their home yards.

Property of a Lady? A Pink Car.

A bright Pink Chevrolet Beat car. Not everyday you see one of these! If Ian Fleming were to write the “Property of a Lady” James Bond short Story today, he would probably wrote it about this car. Spotted in a supermarket parking lot in Bangalore. The Chevrolet Beat is officially not available in Pink, so must be an aftermarket paint job. Anyhow, I salute thee!

TNSTC Express to Salem in the Evening Sun

The evening sun casts a golden glow as a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) “Non-Stop Express” bus passes by the St.John’s Bus Stop at Koramangala on its way from Bangalore to Salem. All the monikers such as “Non-Stop” and “Express” are misleading, as these buses crawl their way along the highway taking up to 5 hours to cover the 200 km between Bangalore and Salem. However, these buses are the most frequently available mode of transport between the cities. Take one only if you have no other options. Here is an experience of a person who traveled on one.
